Introduction to accepting region	Geographical conditions Ichinomiya-cho is situated in the northern part of Gifu, in the southern part of the Takayama Basin surrounded in the east by 3000 meter-level mountains of the northern Japanese Alps and in the west by 1000 meter-level Tateyama Highland. The Miyagawa (Miya River) runs across the area northward toward the Sea of Japan. The Kuraiyama Mountain Range in the south divides the central Japan and has the sources of the Hida River that runs southward toward the Pacific Ocean. Being at altitudes between 600 and 1600 meters above sea level, it has an area of 52km2, 90% of which is represented by mountains and woods. There is not so much plain land; rice paddies represent 83% of the arable land and the rest is fields of spinach and tomato and pastures.
